CEOThomas PointerThomas Pointer is the owner and CEO of the organization. He oversees the entire operation and creates the programs for Residential, Day, and Supported Employment. Thomas along with his wife Robin started NorthStar Special Services in the basement of their home in September 2007. Thomas has worked in the industry for over 30 years and he always dreamed of having his own company. Thomas is passionate about the adults with intellectual disabilities that he is honored to serve and he works tirelessly to ensure they have good, meaningful, quality lives. Thomas has received many honors, certificates, and awards for his outstanding achievements and he is a member of MACS.
CFORobin PointerRobin Pointer is Executive Director and CFO of the organization. She oversees the operation in the Pikesville office and manages the operating budgets for the entire company. With a lot of hard work, and team effort, the company has exceeded its projection for growth and has added a Day and Supported Employment Program in Randallstown, MD. Robin has a BS degree in Business Management and she is a member of MACS.
Program DirectorTonyetta WilliamsTonyetta Williams is the Program Director of the organization. She oversees both the Residential, Day and Supported Employment programs. Tonyetta has worked in the industry for over 20 years. She has been with NorthStar since 2007 and works closely with Thomas and Robin Pointer to ensure implementation in programming. Her primary responsibilities include assuring compliance with COMAR regulations and company policy and procedures. She prides herself on providing quality services to the individuals who participate in NorthStar’s programs.
Residential DirectorTijuan ColsonTijuan Colson has worked in this industry for over 28 years. She loves coaching and mentoring and coming up with new ideas to enhance and improve the program. Tijuan is very knowledgeable about COMAR regulations, and she stands by our mission to provide quality service.
Operations ManagerKofi PointerKofi Pointer began his employment with NorthStar in September of 2007 as a Residential Counselor and assisted with the transition of NorthStar’s first individual. After the opening of NorthStar’s day program, Kofi transferred and was promoted to management. Some of his responsibilities are supervising all aspects of the Day Program to include staffing, scheduling, arranging transportation, overall environmental safety.
Human Resources ManagerCleo VinesCleo has a BS degree in Business Management and she is a member of SHRM. She has been in the HR field for three years. Cleo has been an asset to our team and her role entails all aspects of hiring new staff, mentoring current staff, training and development, and offering support to our clients.
Case Management SupervisorYolanda CollinsYolanda is our Individual Plan Supervisor for NorthStar’s Day Habilitation program. Yolanda works with her team to ensure each client’s goals are being met and that they are receiving the proper care and treatment in all aspects. Yolanda has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix for Health Administration, and she also brings years of experience serving others.
